MANTA in your studio & control room

Our speakers are active, so no power amplifier needed. A DAC, preamp or streamer with XLR/RCA preouts is all you need. They work well in most rooms out of the box. By simply pressing a button at the back of the speakers, you switch through presets that further tailor the speakers to your room or preference.
Want more advanced? Our speakers and subwoofers have built-in EQ. If you have the ability to perform measurements of your setup, we even offer free assistance with evaluating the measurements and suggesting appropriate EQ adjustments!
BASS
MANTA is designed to plug and play with Sigberg Audio subwoofers.
Our speakers and subs integrate perfectly without any manual setup. If you have dual subs (recommended), you can connect the subwoofers via the speakers (XLR through connection). Feel free to contact us to learn more.
MANTA LOUDSPEAKER STANDS
A pair of one-piece black steel stands (no assembly required) made exclusively for the Manta speakers is included with your purchase! They tilt the speakers 4 degrees and have a distinctive, retro look.
The stands rest on silicone feet that absorb vibrations and isolate the speakers from the floor.

Design details
- MANTA is designed to be paired with at least one subwoofer. The midbass is so important to the pace and dynamics that we use a dedicated amplifier channel and dedicated high power, high sensitivity 12" driver to this frequency range. Given the extreme capacity of the MANTA, we strongly recommend using dual subwoofers.
- Cardioid midrange: The vented midrange chamber reduces reflections from the side walls and the wall behind the speakers. The result is increased clarity and improved soundstage. This is what gives the MANTA its unique vocal performance, and ability to sound clear and tidy even on complex music productions. To perfect the midrange, ports are cut out on both sides of the coax driver resulting in ideal dispersion characteristics across the frequency range.
- Cardioid midbass: The MANTA achieves cardioid like performance down to ~80hz, directing bass pressure towards the listener. The tight and consistent midbass experience is crucial for the rhythmic, dynamic nature of many music genres.
- All Sigberg Audio speakers are built by hand in Norway, and they are measured and verified as matched pairs.

Custom loudspeaker stand
Included with your purchase is a heavy duty powder coated, one piece welded steel stand made in Norway especially for the Manta. The 5mm top plate makes it seem like the Manta is floating in the air.
Resting on the stand the Manta has a four degree tilt - carefully calculated for perfect frequency response at the listening position. The stand rests on cushy silicone feet to eliminate vibrations and decouple the speaker from the floor.

Traditional speakers radiate sound in all directions. This means less energy at the listening position. Severe reflections from the walls leaves you with a distorted and inferior version of the original sound.
The unique enclosure of the MANTA has a cardioid radiation pattern, directing most of the energy towards the listener. Hear the music directly from the source instead of reflected off your walls.

Cardioid response in loudspeakers has been studied and proven to be the most preferred dispersion characteristics (Ferekidis, Kempe, 2004).
It improves clarity, transient reproduction and accuracy of soundstage (Kantamaa, 2020).
